A collection of items related to the Muriel Lester Archive. Muriel Lester’s personal papers are at Kingsley Hall in Dagenham. The archive is a fascinating and important record of the Lester sisters’ work in East London and Muriel’s world travels in the cause of international peace. It includes diaries, notebooks, correspondence, photographs, publications and records of both Kingsley Halls and of Children’s House, Bow.

The Muriel Lester collection, containing Muriel’s personal papers, Doris Lester’s papers and records of the two Kingsley Halls and Children’s House, is now in Bishopsgate Library.

Join us for tea on Thursday, 12th April, to discover an inspiring part of East London’s history and share our plans for realising the Lester sisters’ vision for Kingsley Hall in Bromley by Bow in the twenty-first century.
